- The DBA should have knowledge of some industry standard PostgreSQL databases, including creation and implementation of fully functional PostgreSQL database clusters (both in the cloud AWS RDS, and on-premises), ability to maintain multiple development environments.
- Administer and maintain databases to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Design, monitor, and tune databases to meet performance and scalability requirements.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, providing robust solutions to maintain system stability.
- Participation in the development and optimization of the architecture of new and existing databases.
- Proficient with the Linux operating systems – Ubuntu, RHEL.
- Work with developers on the implementation and support of the database.
- Maintenance of technical documentation.
- Experience: 5+ years of Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration, with a focus on high-availability, performance, and security.
- Expertise in database design, monitoring, tuning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Certifications (would be a big plus): Certified Oracle Database Administrator (OCP).
General skills:
- English (reading/writing/speaking) – min Intermediate level.
- Experience in working with people.
- Quick understanding and learning abilities.
- Ability to work on several tasks in parallel.
- Ability to work under pressure.
