Role Description: The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, high-performing network systems. This includes managing Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, overseeing wireless networks, and working with both Linux and Windows environments. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, problem-solving mindset and expertise in optimizing complex network configurations to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Support (24/7): Provide first-line support for network incidents and service requests, including Cisco and Ubiquiti devices (switches, access points).
Monitoring & Alerting: experience with PRTG, Zabbix, Grafana, and vendor dashboards to continuously monitor network performance, availability, and security. Respond to alerts promptly.
Wi-Fi Configuration & Support: Assist in configuring and troubleshooting wireless networks to ensure reliable connectivity and security.
Log Analysis & Troubleshooting: Read and interpret system and network logs to identify issues, perform root-cause analysis, and apply fixes.
Systems Administration (Basic): Support basic Windows and Linux networking tasks (DNS, DHCP).
Security & Compliance: Apply security guidelines such as access control ACL, under senior guidance.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of incidents, configurations, troubleshooting steps, and network diagrams.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior network engineers, IT, and security teams to resolve complex issues, ensuring smooth 24/7 operations.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience: 1–3 years in IT/network support or network operations (NOC experience preferred).
Technical Skills:
-Familiarity with Cisco and Ubiquiti devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
-Basic understanding of Wi-Fi deployment and troubleshooting.
-Working knowledge of Windows and Linux networking basics.
-Understanding of core protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
-Ability to read and analyze logs for issue resolution.
Monitoring Tools: Hands-on experience with PRTG, Zabbix, Grafana (Wireshark/Nagios a plus).
Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting mindset, clear communication, ability to work under pressure in 24/7 environments, and readiness to work shifts.
Nice to Have:
-Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
-Exposure to virtualization (Docker) or cloud networking.
-Familiarity with automation/scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
