- Employment & Privacy Law:
- Provide practical, timely legal advice on employment issues, including employee terminations, complaints, and tailoring work schedules to meet business needs.
- Advise on privacy-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Draft and review employment/privacy documentation, such as contracts, policies and notices
- Contract negotiations
- Legal Research & Advisory:
- Conduct in-depth research on legal topics, including employment, privacy, and artificial intelligence, referencing case law and regulatory updates.
- Identify legal issues, analyze legal risks, and assist in developing and implementing solutions.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Support and advise other departments as necessary.
- Liaise with external advisors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and resolve legal issues.
- Team Development & Processes:
- Assist in building a scalable foundation for the Legal Team by developing templates, processes, and policies.
- Maintain records of group policies and procedures and ensure adherence internally and with relevant regulatory authorities.
- Oversee contractual obligations and maintain contractual and regulatory relationships.
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
- Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory updates, particularly in employment, privacy, and commercial law.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as determined by the VP of legal.
- Education: Master of Law degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Malta.
- Experience: 2 years as a practicing lawyer, with a strong focus on employment, and privacy law.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Outcome-focused with a pragmatic approach to applying legal principles.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in employment litigation is an advantage.
- Familiarity with multijurisdictional legal environments is a plus.
